CHACALY takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. In this Privacy Statement, we explain how CHACALY collects and processes your data following your use of this website

This Statement has been updated to take into account the General Data Protection Regulations of 27 April 2016 which apply from 25 May 2018 (hereinafter “GDPR”).

1. The controller

2. Which data are processed?

CHACALY collects information about you when you register with us through the site or any other registration channel or when you request a service. These are data (name, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.) that you voluntarily provide us with via a registration form (for example when you fill in surveys, give us your opinion or participate in a competition). The use of the site is also analysed using cookies.

3. On what basis and for what purpose does CHACALY process my data?

CHACALY only collects and uses your personal data when you have given your permission to do so. CHACALY will in most cases ask for your express permission, but your permission may be inferred from some of your behaviour or positive actions (for example, when you freely fill out a survey form or use one of the services. If you have given your consent, your personal data will also be stored and processed to keep you informed about our activities and to send you interesting offers selected or not selected on the basis of your individual profile and purchase history.

4. With whom is my data shared?

CHACALY does not share your data.

In exceptional cases, we may pass on your data:

  • When we are required to do so by law, regulation or legal process (such as a court decision)
  • At the request of the authorities, police forces
  • When we believe it is essential or desirable to prevent physical or financial harm, or when investigating suspected or actual fraud or illegal activities.

In such cases, we undertake to do everything in our power to ensure that the transferee uses your data in accordance with this Privacy Statement. If such a sale or transfer should occur, we will inform you and you can contact the transferee to ask questions regarding the processing of your data.

CHACALY uses your data transmitted after your consent for marketing purposes in order to inform you in general or on promotions.

6. Your Rights

You may exercise your rights at any time (via communication by e-mail, post or registered mail). All you have to do is send an e-mail to [email protected] or a letter to CHACALY, Allée Saint-Martin, 10 – 1428 Lillois – Belgium to the attention of the Privacy Officer. For confidentiality reasons, we always ask you to present an identity card (only the front side) in order to achieve unambiguous identification and to ensure that your data is not shared with third parties.

Regarding your data, you have the right:

  • to access and consult them
  • to have them corrected,
  • to possibly object to their treatment,
  • to request the deletion of your data (right to forget),
  • to request the limitation of the processing of your data,
  • to receive your data in a structured format that is commonly used and machine-readable.

If you feel that we have not provided you with correct or complete information, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a Belgian supervisory authority or data protection authority.

7. Transfer of your data

As the proper management of your personal data is important to us, we guarantee that your data will remain within the boundaries of the European Economic Area and will not be shared outside of it.

CHACALY implements all administrative, technical, physical and organizational measures to protect your data against accidental or unauthorized destruction or accidental loss, as well as against modification, access and any other unauthorized processing of personal data. The data are also protected through technical and physical access controls, as well as through the implementation of procedures that ensure adequate protection.

10. Data retention period

We process and save your personal data only for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which we are required to do so by law or regulation. When the purpose ceases to apply or is fulfilled, your personal data will be deleted or limited. Where the data are limited, they will be deleted as soon as the retention periods imposed by law, the statutes or a contract no longer prevent their deletion, provided that there is no reason to assume that deletion would harm your legitimate interests, and provided that such deletion does not involve a disproportionate amount of effort due to the specific nature of the data storage.

This Privacy Statement may be amended from time to time and without prior notice to reflect CHACALY’s privacy policy. You will find the last modification date at the bottom of this page.
